BORN 2 B’s “Musical Evolution” Out NOW!!

With influences coming from all over the place, Born 2 B’s sound is hip-hop with a twist that includes hints of reggae, jazz, and even ska. When it all boils down he has his own original, London style that can be found on a number of releases including his upcoming single “Musical Evolution.”

One of the first white rappers in the UK hip-hop scene long before Eminem crossed the pond BORN 2 B notes of his sound, “I am a product of my environment and I write my lyrics to report what I am seeing around me, reporting what life is like in the suburbs of London, UK. Musically, I have absorbed all of my musical influences throughout my life and in hip-hop fashion, represent them in my own unique way.”

Making his debut in 1990, Born 2 B is no stranger to releasing well-tuned music. A year later he was approached by Us3 producer’s Geoff Wilkinson and Mel Simpson to write and record lyrics for a jazz/hip-hop instrumental they were working on. Geoff had already approached Ninja Tune with the idea, however when they heard the vocal version, they signed them up for a release. “The Band Played The Boogie” was the label’s fourth single release and most successful at that time, helping establish the Ninja Tune label.

“The Band Played The Boogie” was just the beginning as Born 2 B was a major player in Us3 being signed to Blue Note/EMI, as well as a successful solo artist after with 2000’s London’s Burning, The Return of the Boogie in 2007 and of course his upcoming release on Hustlerz Inc. Recordings, “Musical Evolution.”

Intro: Yeah, Just bringing back some of that Old School Jazz. The name's Born 2 B, ya see me. Original Ninja, Samurai Warrior. Read your record books, and if you don't know, now you know! Spin it back! Chorus: Musical Evolution, it's The Revolution, Born 2 B's The Sensei, I'm The Student, It's No Therapy, No Formula is Telling Me, This is How It's Mean't To Be, Ooh, There's Such A Chemistry, Vs 1: I got Musical Evolution ticking on my mind, Is this the future, are we just killing time, What is the new sound and have we found it yet? Or is it sitting on a shelf on a tapedeck, From the Old School and from the School of Old, We keep on digging in the crates 'til we have struck gold, In the studio, we spin it back again, And mix it up a little further to a new spin, Cos when its wearing thin, and fame is growing old, We're looking back to the stories that the Legends told, Rugged and Raw like we once did it before, I slapped "The Boogie" in your neckback cos I'm not a new Jack, We take a record stack, forget the MP3's, You're losing bass out the level of your frequencies, I've got a score that you can never ignore, No Factor's gonna change the loss of the Fab Four, So where we going now, so where we're going now, The prostitution of music is a devolution, Time to come with the new revolution, A new solution to this force-fed pollution, forget that, don't wanna hear their latest track, or their celebrity chit chat, it's false, not fact, you can only learn when you look back, so I took a step back, rewind, can you hear that? Chorus: Musical Evolution, it's The Revolution, Born 2 B's The Sensei, I'm The Student, It's No Therapy, No Formula is Telling Me, This is How It's Mean't To Be, Ooh, There's Such A Chemistry, Musical Evolution, it's The Revolution, Born 2 B's The Sensei, I'm The Student, It's No Therapy, No Formula is Telling Me, This is How It's Mean't To Be, Ooh, There's Such A Chemistry ... Talking about a revolution, so let's go.... Vs2: The Blues was the first revolution, a Black American elocution, 'bout living where there is no solution and no constitution, the 1940's was a special pollution, come the rebellion, run put your telly on, cos Rock 'n' Roll rode on through like a stallion, the 1950's brought the world to its knees, No more they stepped back for a flag to appease, and to the Ghetto's of Harlem and Detroit, The Sounds Of Motown got the point, Smoking a new joint, cutting through colour lines, The only thing united in the State's was their colour crimes, living out hard times, knickels and dimes, amongst the prostitution, mass pollution, war and rise the revolution, the 1960's was the execution, Vs3: So we take it back, time for reflection, Let's analyse this like we're having an inspection, Some detection, cos from the Rock 'n' Roll, You've got the Rock and from the R&B, you've got the Soul, No A&R control, it was the music man, Who held the cause way up 'til Hip-Hop was the veteran, The revolution of a new generation attack, So kill the X-Fac and bring the music back! With influences coming from all over the place, Born 2 B’s sound is Hip-Hop with a twist that includes hints of Reggae, Jazz, and even Ska. When it all boils down, he has his own original London style that can be found on a number of releases including his new single “Musical Evolution.”

“The Band Played The Boogie” was just the beginning as Born 2 B was a major player in Us3 being signed to Blue Note/EMI, as well as a successful solo artist after with 2000’s "London’s Burning", "The Return Of The Boogie" in 2007 and of course his new release on Hustlerz Inc Recordings, “Musical Evolution.” After that, he plans on dropping another single in Summer 2018, entitled “Still Waitin’” with a new album to come in late Summer/autumn 2018; "Original Olde English".

BORN 2 B has a lot of music on the way, as well as some TBA tour dates.
